LUANG PRABANG TO VANG VIENG (230 KM)
Start your Laos motorbike tour with a ride on the paved roads from Luang Prabang to Vang Veing. On this spectacular way, you will pass rustic local villages along the Kasi Pass, where you can see the front doors of houses situated right along the edge of the roads before the mountaindrop into beautiful valleys below.
VANG VIENG – PHONSAVAN (170KM)
Set off your motorcycling adventure in Laos by a visit to one of the most secret places on earth, Long Cheng LS20A. You have chance to see the popular Plain of Jars archeological site, where huge jars had been carved out of a single piece of rock. Archeologists have recently discovered human remains at this region that are estimated to be roughly 2,500 years old.
PHONSAVAN – VIENG THONG (250KM)
Continue the motorbike trip in Laos, you will ride through the majestic mountains in the north of Phonsavan. Take a short stop at Lima Site 36 before finishing the day at the natural hot springs in Vieng Thong. Vieng Thong lies on the gateway of the Nam Et-Phou Louey National Protected Area, one of the last remaining home for Tigers in Indochina.
VIENG THONG – NONG KHIAW (244KM)
You will take a motorcycling trip to the idyllic riverside town of Nong Khiaw, situated along the Nam Ou River. If time allows, we can visit some ethnic villages on the hilltop to understand their simple lifestyle.
NONG KHIAW – MUANG KHUA (120KM)
In the morning, you will have an interesting visit to Muang Khua. This town is located in Phonsaly province, and is known as home to the Akha people. Living at a high elevation on the mountains, the Akha people is well-known for their most elaborate and colorful clothes. The route for motorbike to Muang Khua is quite hard, which is a real challenge to adventure lovers.
MUANG KHUA – BOUNTHAI (180KM)
The next stop of your Laos motorcycling tour will be the local Akha village of Bounthai. To have an authentic experience, you should enjoy a day at the homestay. The host family will prepare traditional meals for dinner and breakfast. It will be a fantastic chance to gain a deep understanding about the unique culture and remarkable history of the Akha.
BOUNTHAI – LUANG NAMTHA (150KM)
After enjoying a freshly-prepared breakfast, continue the motorbike trip through the scenic countryside to Luang Namtha. Along the way, you can admire breathtaking sceneries and gorgeous landscapes of the rural area in Laos. If reaching Luang Namtha early, you can spend interesting time in bustling markets, or take a boat trip along the mighty Namtha River (price not included).
LUANG NAMTHA – PAKBENG (200KM)
The Laos motorbike tour will continue with a ride on the winding roads through a number of remote villages in this region. It will be a long day riding, but you will be worthily rewarded by the pristine beauty of Lao landscapes. The highlight of the day is Pakbeng, a remarkable village with a temple on the hills that dates back to the Kingdom of Lanna (Kingdom of a Million Rice Fields). You will have a memorable experience when spending an overnight in a local lodge.
PAKBENG – HONGSA – SAYABOURI (178KM)
After having breakfast and admiring the beautiful sunrise, you will head out form Pakbeng to Hongsa, another rustic village with a bustling market. Enjoy the lunch before riding to Sayabouri. Once you come to Sayabouri, you will be mesmerized by full of interesting activities at the Elephant Conservation Center. Here you will have opportunity to ride, feed, bathe, and make friend with these gentle giants. A motorbike trip to Laos would not be a perfect experience if you don’t try this.
SAYABOURI – LUANG PRABANG (200KM)
Enjoy interesting time at Elephant Conservation Center in the morning, you can take part in mahout lessons or visit medical center to understand more how to take care the elephants. Then we will say goodbye to Saybouri and move back to Luang Prabang. Arrive the city in the late afternoon and finish the brilliant Laos motorbike tour.
