Luang Prabang arrival
You will be warmly welcomed at Luang Prabang Airport upon arrival. Check in at the hotel and spend the rest of day on relaxing or exploring the city. Enjoy meals on your own and overnight at the hotel.
Luang Prabang Sightseeing - Kuang Si Waterfall (B/L)
Wake up early in Luang Prabang, you will have chance to admire the fascinating sunset and witness an interesting religious ritual of Laos people. In this ritual, the monks will walk on the streets to mump items from the Buddhists in the city. You can silently watch the ritual to understanding more about Buddhism in Laos.
After breakfast, set off your northern Laos travel with a visit to the Royal Palace, which now is the National Museum. Head to Kuang Si Waterfall on a road bordered by villages and rice fields. You will stop at some villages to witness the local life and enjoy a picnic lunch under the waterfall. Enjoy swimming and spend time to record fantastic moments at the waterfall.
In the afternoon, you will be transferred back to Luang Prabang and start exploring the ancient city on the left bank of the Mekong River. Being the former capital of Laos, Luang Prabang is the location of over 100 temples, considered the most beautiful religious monuments in Laos. Make a visit to the famous Vat Xieng Thong. If time permits, we can reach Vat Visoun, the oldest temple in the city renowned for its wooden windows inspired by the Khmer. Dinner on your own and spend overnight at the hotel.
Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Caves - Kamu Lodge (B/L/D)
Morning, we will embark a traditional boat to cruise along the Mekong River. En-route, you can visit the sacred caves of Pak Ou, which shelter hundreds of Buddha statues. Continue the floating trip on the river until reaching your Eco Lodge located nearby a Kamu village. The famous Mekong giant catfish live on this part of the river and if lucky, you will see local fishermen patiently waiting their chance to catch these fishes. Atn noon, we will reach the lodge in the jungle where you can try to live as a local among the lush tropical forest.
Enjoy lunch before we leave the lodge to visit the neighbor Ban Nyoy Har village, where 63 families make their living in traditional Kamu costume. Walk around the village to see the interesting activities in the life of the Kamu: children are playing together, villagers are braiding strips of bamboo into a cylinder for rice while others are scooping harvested peanuts from a tarp to a bamboo basket… Head back to the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner.
Kamu - Pakbeng (B/L/D)
We leave the lodge for a cruise on the Mekong River to Pakbeng. You will have chance to enjoy the beautiful countryside landscapes along the waterway. We can make some stops at small villages on the bank of Mekong River. It will be a great opportunity to learn about the local lifestyle and the culture of people in Laos. Arrive at Pakbeng at the end of the day, enjoy delicious dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Pakbeng Sightseeing (B/L/D)
Continue your travel to northern Laos by a trip to Mekong Elephant Camp. You will cross the Mekong River where lovely elephant are bathing. You will have an amazing elephant ride through the ethnic villages before returning to your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, take a tuk tuk to visit the local market and then visit the village of Xang Keng Khmus, a beautiful rustic village situated on the edge of the forest. You can also reach Wat Chom Si Cheng, a local temple overlooking the Beng River. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Pakbeng - Oudomxay (B)
Leaving Pakbeng, we move to Oudomxay, a small borough surrounded by range of mountains spreading over China, Vietnam, Luang Prabang and Pakbeng. On the way, you can stop to visit villages of Lu and Khmu hill tribes. Reaching Oudomxay district, you will be amazed by the gorgeous mix of green landscapes and mountains view, and a lot of local communities live there. Enjoy meals on your own and overnight at the hotel in the center city of Laos.
Oudomxay - Nong Khiaw - Muang Ngoi (B/L)
In the morning, we depart Oudomxay for Nong Khiaw. Arrival at Nong Khiaw, we will take a traditional boat trip on the Nam Ou River to reach Muang Ngoi. You will have chance to admire the fascinating scenery of mountains and lush green forest. Make a stop at a pretty Thai Ed Village, a charming village stretches along the Nam Ou and has a tropical ambiance with its coconut palms and thatched cafes. Enjoy a delicious lunch with traditional dishes at a local restaurant. After checking at the guesthouse, you can troll through the surrounding rice fields of Muang Ngoi and enjoy leisure time in around 2 hours. Dinner on your own and spend an overnight at the guesthouse.
Muang Ngoi (B/L)
After breakfast, we will embark a small boat to reach the hiking point. Continue yourLaos travel with a soft trekking through the rain forest and the riverside then take a boat trip to a weaving village. You can stroll around to see the thatch roof, Bamboo houses, the living condition of villagers, After that start another trek to a Khmu village and then take a boat down to see the beautiful sceneries of Nam Ou River Hatphaxou where surrounded by the karst limestone mountains. We also take a boat or kayaking to return to Muang Ngoi in the late afternoon.
Muang Ngoi – Nong Khiaw – Luang Prabang (B/L)
Saying goodbye to Muang Ngoi Village, we will take one more hour cruising down the Nam Ou River to Nong Khiaw. From there, you will be transferred back to Luang Prabang. You will have chance to visit interesting Lu villages including Bane NaYang and Bane Hat Kho en-route. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Arrive at Luang Prabang City in the late afternoon, check in at the hotel and enjoy relaxing time in the evening.
Luang Prabang Departure (B)
Spend your leisure time to last explore the charming town of Luang Prabang before your transfer to airport for departure flight.
