Known as one of the best attractions in Luang Prabang to learn about history of local Buddha, Pak Ou Caves still hide many secrets about the statues which have been here for centuries. This tour is good chance for you to visit and see it by yourself. Besides, you also can visit some other tourist spots in the city by the traditional local tuk tuk.

Pak Ou Caves Tour and Sightseeing in Luang Prabang

Firstly, we will enjoy a ride by traditional tuk tuk around to visit some highlights of Luang Prabang Laos such as National Museum constructed in 1904. Previously, the monument was the Royal Palce which used to serve King Sisavang Vong and his family. However when the communist government overthrew the monarchy, the palace was then converted into a national museum in 1975.

Continue the exploration and we will visit the must-see Vat Senna known as the Temple of a 100.000 treasures and the famous Vat Xieng Thong (temple of the Royal City), the must-see in Luang Prabang.

After a lunch at a local restaurant, we will move to the pier for an upstream cruise by a long-tailed boat. During the cruise, you will have time exploring the majestic Mekong River in Laos before you realize the appearance of Pak Ou Caves which is located behind the limestone cliffs. Pak Ou is actually the name of two arch caves of Tham Ting and Tam Phum. When you get inside and see what are remained here, you will see that this place is home for over 4000 Buddha images.

On the way back to Luang Prabang, we stop to visit Ban Xang Hai village to see the locals distill traditional rice whisky and Ban Xang Khong village where you can understand more about Lao wood paper and silk weaving.

The beautiful sunset while cruising back will be a nice goodbye to the journey.
