Thailand to Laos Pick Up: Huay Xai - Pakbeng (L) - Shompoo cruise
After you cross the Chiang Khong border (Thailand), our staff will meet you at Huay Xai border and take you to a traditional slow boat to start our journey along Mekong River. Today would be a relaxing day: just sit down and enjoy the splendid scenery with local villages and spectacular mountains surrounding. Lunch will be serve on boat.
In the afternoon, we arrive at Pakbeng – the stopover between Luang Prabang and Huay Xai. Check in your hotel and enjoy free time at leisure.

Pakbeng - Luang Prabang (B/L) - Shompoo cruise
You are recommended to get up early to visit Pakbeng local market before we embark the boat again for our second leg of our journey toward Luang Prabang.
Lunch is served onboard and you will also stop to visit the sacred caves of Pak Ou. The cave is home to thousands of Buddha statues which make the region a revered one. Take your time to explore numerous images hidden in the cave.
In the afternoon, we arrive in Luang Prabang and our guide will pick you up at the pier then transfer to the city. Check in your hotel with remainder of day free at leisure.

Luang Prabang city tour (B)
In the morning, we visit the morning Phosi Market – the biggest market in Luang Prabang to enjoy its vibrant beauty and local life. You can see thousands kind of products from fresh vegetable, fish to clothes, local tea, tools, hardware, dried buffalo skin…
Luang Prabang is the city of gilded temple with gorgeous beautiful ones on the road as well as in small corner. Today we will have plenty chances to explore some of them, including:
Vat Xieng Thong: the most significant temple in Luang Prabang, served as an important gathering place for significant annual festivities from the old days of Lan Xang kingdom. The beauty of gilded decoration as well as sophisticated details make it one of the best place to take photos too.
Vat May – or Wat Mai Suwannaphumaham, is the largest temple in the ancient city, famous with its impressive roofs in 5 levels.
Vat Senna – or Wat Sene Souk Haram (means “Temple of a 100 000 treasures”) is considered one of the nicest temples of Luang Prabang with lots of glittering gold details.
After this temple journey, we continue to explore National Museum – formerly Royal Palace also known as the National Museum to learn more about the long-lasting history and culture of the region.
In the late afternoon, it’s time for sunset moment on the Phousi Mountain where you also can have a nice panorama of the city. Leaving here, one the way back to hotel, we will stop to visit the H’mong Night Market where you can find a lot of souvenirs in traditional style of Laos.

Luang Prabang - Kuang Si Falls - Phonsavan (B)
This morning will be devoted to relax and relax!
You will enjoy a short ride to Kuang Si Falls – one of the most favorite sites in Luang Prabang. On the way, you will pass through rice fields and beautiful small villages dotted along country road. Make a stop at some of the villages before arriving at the waterfall. Take a fresh swim to refresh yourself in many basins.
We then come back the city and depart for Phonsavan (306 km – about 5h drive), associated with the historic war between 1964 and 1973. On the way we will make some stop at Tai Dam and H’Mong villages.

Plain of Jar - Muong Khoun (B)
After breakfast, we transfer to the Plain of Jars, the home of giant stone jars dated back at least 2000 years.
The plain contains thousands of big and small jars, the biggest one is 2.5m in diameter and weigh tens of tons. The others are in numerous different shapes, sizes and no one is alike. Most of them have no lid except one. Specially, its lid was carved with strange patterns which no expert can explain.
There are many mysterious stories behind this famous destination. Some people say it used to be the accommodation of giants but some others consider it a historic cemetery and each jar is a funeral urn.
The afternoon will be spent to visit Muong Khoun, ancient capital of the Xieng Khuang royal family. The old town was renovated after 1975 with some wooden Lao houses, a market area, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. We visit Wat Phia That and That Foun before transfer back the hotel.

Phonsavan - Fly to Vientiane (B)
Enjoy your morning to explore local market before transfer to the airport for flight to Vientiane. On arrival our guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel.
Spend your free time at leisure or take a walk along Mekong river to enjoy sunset is a great experience that every tourist experience once arriving in Vientiane. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.
Vientiane City Tour - Buddha Park (B)
Today, you will spend time to explore the capital city of Laos, firstly the Morning Market – Talat Sao and is one of the must-see, located in the heart of Vientiane. This is where you could see lots of souvenir as well as daily life of people in Vientiane.
Then we make our way to Buddha Park, which is about 25 km from the city. Buddha Park is home to hundreds of Buddha statues and an enormous Buddha image which is 40m in length. Take your time to explore its unique statues with different size and shapes of human, God heads and animals.
In the afternoon, you have plenty of time to explore the hidden charm of Vientiane with various historic sites including:
Vat Sisaket: a well-known beautiful temple with thousands of tiny Buddha images, ancient architecture and long history dated back to 1818.
Vat PhraKeo: built in 1565, proudly housed the famous Emerald Buddha image. This is one of the most impressive and interesting temples in Vientiane.
Pha That Louang : built 1566 and reconstructed 1930, considered the symbol of Laos as it is the most important Laotian religious and national monument.
Patuxay: built in 1957, this memorial monument is the most prominent landmark in the city. It was inspired by the architecture of Triomphe in Paris, built in typical Lao motifs. An excellent panoramic view of the city can be seen from the top of the monument.

Vientiane - Departure (B)
Enjoy your last minutes in Vientiane on your own to go shopping, taste some cups of coffee or wander around the quiet streets. Room is at your disposal until 12.00 noon only. Then our driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight to next destination. Meals on your own. End of services.
